Loom Bands

Many apologies for the extreeeemely belated blog post, my dear readers! I haven't had a camera for the last few days/week and therefore haven't been able to take photos, resulting in no post!

This post is about loom bands. I know, I know - I am EXTREMELY late into this craze. I admit that, when I first saw 8 and 9 year olds sporting the weird multicoloured rubber band creations on their wrists, I was dubious. To be honest I thought they were a bit stupid and a few of my friends shared the same view. We bitched about them, a lot.

However, my opinion has changed about them. I've been staying at my Godmother's house for the past few days and she has two children, a 6 year old boy and an 8 year old girl - who I hadn't seen for months. Yes, there were awkward silences, what can you ask children of that age? I know how much I /hated/ being asked about school so I thought it best to avoid that subject entirely. Then I spied a box of loom bands and, genuinely curious, asked

"Ooh, loombands! Can you teach me?"

2 hours later and I was sat on the floor, legs cross, eyes concentrated and working on my 5th loomband. I had mastered the fishtail.

They are ADDICTIVE I tell you. Like seriously, I never thought I'd get into making a bracelet out of rubber bands but I couldn't have been more wrong. Maybe it's because they're quite similar to the 'Scoobies' that I was addicted to when I was little.

So, there we have it - Loombands, I'm an official addict now. And before anyone calls me a loser, someone made a dress out of Loombands and sold it for around £154,000... who's a loser now, eh? That will totally be me in a few months.... I can wish.

London - Fending for Yourself in the Big City

Why hello there! 

At this present moment in time, my Mumma's away and Dad's gone on holiday with his girlfriend. Know what this means? Oh yes - I've taken over my Dad's flat!

It's a bit of a construction site, with bits of half made Ikea furniture strewn over the floor and tools everywhere - but at least it's a place to crash! Plus, it has an awesome sound system and super fast internet... Thank you Father Dearest!

However, living 'alone' comes with a price. I am a complete Mummy's girl and I know that as a 16 year old it is awful that I can't cook, but the simple truth is that I'm absolutely hopeless in the kitchen! The only thing I can really do is put things in the microwave. And pasta, I can cook pasta (but I don't enjoy washing up afterwards).

So, here's the trouble: What do I eat?! How do I cook it?!

Here's my solution. The lovely Marks & Spencer. I decided to get 'nice rice chicken' which from the look and sound of it is meant to be a children's meal... but I'm only small so it'll probably suit me down the the ground! In addition to this I bought a bottle of 'hibiscus & lemon soda' because it looked pretty, look how cute the bottle and label is! I just couldn't resist.

And there we have it - my cute little 'fend for yourself, not much effort, meal for one'. Seriously, for all you Londoners who are left alone for a night and don't have any food, M&S is an absolute dream. Yes, it is a little bit on the expensive side but the quality is so worth it, so yummmmmmy. I'm lucky enough to have one just around the corner - yes!

Spotlight Sunday: Xeuphoria

Oh hi there! So I figured that I needed something that I could upload on a certain day of the week - seems to be a running theme within most of the blogs I read so I thought, why not! That, my friends, is why 'Spotlight Sunday' has been born. It will mainly consisting of producers that I like but this may change. Watch this space.

Today in the spotlight will be Xeuphoria who is not only a brilliant producer but a great friend of mine.

Xeuphoria is an English producer who started out three years back. Back then he was mainly producing dubstep and the odd electro house track but found that his heart was with producing more chilled out stuff such as liquid drum and bass, liquid dubstep and chillout - absolutely perfect for when you want to wind down after a long day and just, well, chill out!

Below is one of his recent tracks, Alexis - it has an incredibly smooth melody with stunning Japanese vocals, making this track very relaxing.



If this is a bit out there for you and you prefer chart topping tracks - fear not! There's something for you too. Xeuphoria is a keen Swifty (who isn't?) and does some really wonderful remixes of Taylor Swift's songs, such as Love Story which I have linked below.




Not only does he produce killer chilled tracks, he also does some of the most beautiful piano covers that I've ever heard. He covers all sorts, from drum and bass tracks to anime theme tunes, there is certainly something for everyone. I highly suggest that you check them out - I promise you that you will not regret it!



Xeuphoria deserves so much more credit and coverage than he receives, all of his tracks are absolutely gorgeous and he has worked so hard to get to where he is. All he needs now is to gain more publicity so that he can be picked up and signed by a record label. He would be so grateful if you could check out his tracks and follow/subscribe to him if you like what you hear.

An Introduction: 20 Questions

After stalking quite a few blogs I've discovered that this is 'the thing' to do when you start up a blog. I guess it's a sort of rite of passage?

1. Thing you cannot leave the house without

My phone and a face full of makeup, sad but true.

2. Favourite brand of makeup

Eeek, tough one - probably Benefit & Clinique as most of my makeup consists of that, but Lancôme do amazing eyeshadow.

3. Favourite flower
Hyacinth

4. Favourite clothing store

Finding clothes that fit me is such a challenge because I'm so short! Gilly Hicks, H&M and Topshop suit me down the ground though.

5. Favourite perfume

It depends, Chanel Chance in the winter and Givenchy Dahlia Noir in the summer.

6. Heels or flats

Heels for definite, they make me feel like a normal human being rather than the dwarf-like creature that I actually am.

7. Did you get good grades

As of yet I have no idea. Results day for my GCSE's is on the 21st of August so I guess we'll see. *fingers crossed*

8. Favourite colours

Blue, Lilac & Grey (I know, I know; it's a shade)

9. Do you drink energy drinks

I used to before I had a very bad experience with Monster last year which caused me to be physically unable to sleep. Now I tend to stay away from them unless I'm in desperate need of a caffeine hit.

10. Do you drink juice

Hrmm, not really. I used to drink Firefly 'Wake Up' juice a lot.

11. Do you like swimming

I used to until I hit the awkward age of thirteen where I couldn't think of anything worse than getting my skin out in the swimming costume in front of the creepy boys (and teachers) at my school swimming pool. I haven't really liked pools since, the sea is lovely though.

12. Do you eat fries with a fork

I might start off with a fork if I'm attempting to be polite but I'll 100% end up eating them with my hands after 5 minutes.

13. Favourite moisturiser

Palmers Coco Butter, never really used anything else so it's a bit of a habit now.

14. Do you want to get married later on in life

Yes I do! Totally don't have the venue planned out or anything...

15. Do you get mad easily

Sort of, but you wouldn't know it!

16. Are you into ghost hunting

I remember when I was about 11 a few friends and I went ghost hunting around my school and I had this diary that we wrote stuff down in. It was so weird... We managed to scare ourselves so much over it.

17. Any phobias

Not really. >.<

18. Do you bite your nails

No... Yes.. Maybe... I'm getting better!

19. Have you ever had a near death experience

Yes! I fell into a water butt when I was 2, nearly drowned. Then I nearly drowned again in the sea when I was 6 and the lifeguard had to save me. I don't have a very good history with water...

20. Do you drink coffee

I'm not really a fan of proper coffee but I do love a good caramel latte (Nero do the best), I don't think that really counts though.

First Review - Ted Baker Paint the Town Pretty Nail Varnish Set

So this is my first product review (bit daunting, eek) but here goes. I received this lovely little tin of nail varnishes as a Christmas prezzie last year. The first thing that caught my eye was the gorgeous tin that they came it - kudos to Ted Baker for the presentation, seriously.

You can't deny it, the tin is adorable. But what was inside was even better. Four nail varnishes awaited inside - a sheer coral pink, a black, a sheer silver glitter and a metallic gold. 

Now, I'm absolutely hopeless when it comes to nail varnish application so when I saw such perfect colours my heart sunk a little because I knew that my grubby nails and shaky application just wouldn't do the justice. I was wrong. They are an absolute dream to apply - they go on so smoothly and dry so quickly as well! They're the only nail varnishes I've owned that I have really loved, they're great for any time of year as well. 

The picture above shows the black and the sheer silver glittery nail varnishes on fake nails (if only my nails were that long). Sorry for the dodgy pic quality, this was taken on my old phone and somehow makes my hand look like it belongs to an old woman... weird. 

Here's what all the colours look like on white paper, in case you were wondering. (The pink looks a bit off because it's so sheer and looks best when layered, it looks a lot better on an actual nail)

So, there we have it - my first review! I'd definitely give this product a 10/10 and I would certainly purchase more Ted Baker nail varnishes in the future (if I had the cash!). This was pretty fun and hopefully useful to you - I'll be doing more reviews soon so watch this space!

Hi, I'm new in town

Hi there, after consulting many a friend about what I should do over the summer to keep myself from exploding with boredom, I came to conclusion that starting a blog would be a sensible (and hopefully entertaining) choice.

I had many suggestions, making loom bracelets, starting a youtube channel, even... running (the very thought of which filled with with utter dread as I can barely get myself out of bed in the morning let alone outside to do the dreaded... exercise *shiver*).
However after much thought I finally decided that starting some sort of blog could just do the trick of keeping me entertained this summer - perhaps even for longer if people are actually interested.

 But alas, I'm very new to the blogging world. I think I had an online diary on blogspot when I was about 11, which I swiftly deleted once I realised that it was the first thing that popped up as soon as someone typed my full name into Google... error. Apart from that I am a complete newbie and don't really have any idea what I'm supposed to be writing about, let alone know how make it thrilling enough for people to actually read! But here goes, hopefully you'll find it interesting.
